A Melancholy Song

No where to escape, no where I belong~Masquerading as normal, my heart aches a melancholy song

I’ve hurt the one I love, beyond words expressed~I live with tortured souls, no way to make amends.

Longing for his touch, soft lips against my skin~His eyes seep disappointment, pondering my sin

There is no seeming recourse, no need to ask why~Emotion waves cascading, he wonders how I lie.

Nothing to stop it, no force to intervene~Life in pain and regret, causing a mad scene

Unlike a romance with kisses at the end~This play continues on and on, a lost Greek tragedy.
